Volunteers serve in almost every department of the hospital from the Critical Care Unit to Pediatrics. Trained volunteers perform the ALGO hearing test on all newborns born at FMC. Through First Steps, volunteers visit new mothers at FMC to answer questions and provide support. We utilize volunteers in the following areas: ? Front desk ? Gift shop ? Emergency Department ? Surgical Services ? Cancer Center ? Health Information Management ? Pediatrics ? Special Care Nursery We ask for four hours a week and a six month commitment to volunteering.
